Meet The Team

Fridays 7am-9am
Aidan
As a kid my favourite thing in the week was driving with my Dad on a Wednesday to school listening to Basil and Millsy waiting for Haggers to do his daily content on footy… Now I’m behind the mic? Which is amazing. As a kid, I always wanted to be a footy player and after my dreams were crushed due to my lack of skill, I had to retire at the prime age of 14… After retirement, I realised that sport media was where I belonged. Though being a footy player was a dream for me, my real passion lies within the NBA world and can educate anyone about the Orlando Magic. Sport might be my passion but I’m not locked into one area I have a mass knowledge for throwback rap music. So if you’re interested in having a chat about the NBA and iconic Rap I am your guy! If these ideas intrigue you, I am on The Ox every Friday morning from 7-9am and to listen is through the TunedIn app and search for the Ox.

Friday 7am-9am
Atlas
Do you enjoy weird facts and deep dives into niche topics? Well Mondays from 7-9am might spark your interest! You can find me two coffees in complaining about the nuances of Dungeons and Dragons 5th edition (we all know 3rd edition was so much better) or whatever latest nerdy subject that’s intrigued me and I’ll be playing some tunes alongside. I’m a pom turned Aussie so look out for the words I pronounce strangely! I ended up behind the mic when I turned down an offer for uni after realising I’m actually not very good at studying. Other than that my red flags are that I always tell myself I’ll go to bed early, then I never do. I have a variety of stickers on the back of my laptop but they have to be perfectly organised. And I eat two-minute noodles every night. If those sound like something you can relate to, (or even if you can’t but want to know what’s like to live by yourself as a poor student) you’ll probably like my show!

Friday 7am-9am
Jack
All I've ever wanted to do is create, create, create. I'm a budding content creator, and producer with a passion for sport, working out, reading and really bad punk music. For over 14 years I've been self-teaching how to produce all types of media from video, graphic and audio, making me a bit of a Jack of All Trades, but master of none. I've dabbled in the music industry, producing music, performing in night clubs and organizing nights of my own. I've produced a weekly podcast interviewing high-profile sports stars on a platform I built from the ground up, and to this day I still chip away at my creative endeavors by designing sports and jersey mock ups & concepts. In the mean time behind all of this, I have built up a solid administration resume by completing various administrative contracts. Keeping myself busy is almost an addiction. Having already holding a Certificate II in Creative Industries, I am going to go on to obtain my Diploma of Screen and Media (Broadcast Radio and Podcasting) to go onto work professionally in the media industry hoping to cover sport in the world of radio as a producer thus fulfilling my childhood dream. However, that childhood dream is just the start.

Monday 7am-9am
Jordan
Hi I’m Jordan, I’m 18 years of age, and currently a broadcaster here at The Ox.
I’ve lived in Perth, Western Australia my whole life, so I’m all about being local. I attended Lesmurdie Senior High School in the Perth Hills, where I spent most of my time playing sports, attending music lessons, and other things most people do after school growing up.
When I was 7 or 8 I’ve always listened to the radio whenever the footy was on, and whenever the Top 100 on Nova played on Saturday Mornings Nova I’d always try line it up so we were in the car when the Number 1 song was about to be revealed. At that age, I always had people telling me I should be a radio footy commentator, so much so that my parents filmed me commentating an AFL game to send it to a competition that Dennis Cometti had.
As I mentioned earlier, I’m really all about being local, and I want the listener to always feel like they can relate to whatever I talk about behind the microphone. Currently, you can catch me from 7-9AM on Wednesday Morning’s on the TuneIn app, on The Ox, from our street to yours

Monday 7am-9am
Kaiden
So, I guess this is the part where I tell you about myself. I went from playing with Legos to being the host on the radio every Thursday at 9am. Well, I dye my hair a lot, I have 12 piercings and counting. Lil peep is my go-to artist. I’m a huge rock and roll, goth, metal fan, tbh I could talk about Adam lambert for hours. I’ve done a cert in ed support and business but throw those out the window because ew, like? Anyway. Moving on I want two great Dane’s. I love animals, specifically dogs and cats, the rest? Not so much. I usually spend my time staring at the ceiling and talking to the voices in my head… but overall, I feel as though one minute listening to my show and this all becomes obvious. Enjoy 😉

Thursday 7am-9am
Oden
Imagine this: There’s a boy sitting at home at the ripe age of 6, he’s watching his lil cartoon then all of a sudden BANG the tv switches to the news. The boy turns into a demon, making the loudest screams and screeches you’ve ever heard, the dramatic scene was like something out of Shakespeare, from that point on everyone knew he was destined for the arts (Media really but the arts sounds fancier). Hey! I’m Aidan, most know me by Oden cause it’s better (definitely not because there’s another Aidan…). I always strive to create a positive and playful environment while also making sure crack down when there’s work to be done, apart from the times I get distracted and forget what I’m doing but let’s be honest, we all do that. I’m a quick learner with a witty sense of humour and I’m always trying to better myself every day. So that’s me! I’m always on 7am-9am every Thursday, I also easily have the best show on here so you should only listen to mine. Just kidding! Everyone here is fantastic. Be sure to not get too concerned with my spontaneous behaviour cause it is what it is. Seeya round!

Monday 7am-9am
Paul
Paul has found his feet in the world of radio, with entertaining his Zero k Listeners Paul has 3 followers on Facebook his Mum, pet duck and a lady called Lushes who stalks him
Paul has vowed to increase this heady followers to at least 5 followers by the end of his career. I am country gent from the country, and I am not used to such heavy attention I feel like I am a croc out of water, like Paul Hogan in Crocodile Dundee! This is why I carry a big knife so no hip hopper can steal my second hand, hand made by Aunty Jacklyn possum shoes and shoot me with up with meth. I am always on the lookout on the train on my way to the OX for hip hoppers with their boom boxes and bandanas tied around their heads. Nasty stuff.
I am here to bring some clean content for the young adults of the city. I would like to introduce radio bingo like we have at home I have just learned about these things called QR codes which I proposed to my team of young peers to hand out to the young people Leederville for an exciting game at home bingo my college’s were quite with excitement, we could also have a raffle for home grown meaty meat pack of lamb, cow, possum and chicken and of Course we will have to include those Startrack vegans with some milk, butter, cheese and a carrot stick to keep to our values of inclusion.
Looking forward to playing some great Slim Dusty to you soon.

Tuesday 7am-9am
Tallan
Tallan’s an 18 year old who has had an interest in radio and sports media for a while now, finding his interests at the start of year 12. Tallan’s a huge sports nut, supporting west coast from birth and following other sports like basketball, soccer, cricket and NFL. Tallan wants to one day be apart of people’s every day lives and enlighten their day whether it be through commercial radio or sports journalism, and you can catch him on Tuesday mornings from 7-9am with Sam and Aidan L where they talk all things footy and more!

Tuesday 7am-9am
Sam
I’m Sam Chang-won Goldsworthy, announcer on The Ox. I was born in Kyong-gi-Do, South Korea before being adopted at 18 months old where I was fortunate enough that my parents Graeme & Tracy could take me in. Through my younger years, my whole life revolved around sports. I’m a mad Fremantle supporter, where watching my idol, Peter Bell play for the dockers was my number one thing to do. But supporting my father, who’s a professional Drag Racer, was where I spent most of my weekends. As I headed towards my high school years I skewed away slightly from the sports world as I was fortunate enough to have a fully functional radio station at school to learn the running of a station. I have been so fortunate that, Peter Jackson, current 91.7 wave FM breakfast show host, guided me through the radio world when teaching Media Studies at school. He has assisted me in opening new doors in the radio industry. Looking back on that experience now, it has kept me in good stead for my current Radio Broadcasting studies at North Metropolitan Tafe in Leederville, where I’ve now been given the opportunity to become a co ‘Sports Nation’ show host on Boom Radio and an announcer on our radio station “The Ox”. Outside of the Radio Industry, I’m now a qualified senior football coach where I spend most of my winter weekends coaching the Waroona Football Colts U20 side. Becoming a senior football coach has enabled me to become a leader in and outside of the sports industry. Although coaching is a job outside of Radio, my number one goal is to become a sports announcer in the near future.

Thursdays 7am-9am
Taylor
I’m 19, I love dogs, music, dinosaurs and can easily reference Dead Poet’s Society or any obscure movies and TV shows that no one knows of. I’m also a big fan of sci-fi and secretly hope that a space or time ship will come to take me away to my home planet. I’m also a child of divorce (Taylor Swift & Harry Styles obvi). My first qualification was technical production, learning light and sound, then threw that out to do creative hair and makeup. I spent that year painting my friends and creating wigs, to then throw that qualification out as well. The next year was filled with crying, screaming and sickness, not just from me but also from children, as I thought that childcare was a great profession, even though I have a general distaste for the young ones. Once I received that certificate, it joined the others in the bin, then was burned. I somehow found myself behind the mic at The Ox. I don’t know how I got here, and I don’t know why they’ve let me play around with thousands of dollars' worth of equipment, but I haven’t broken anything...... yet. If they haven’t kicked me out of the building, or if I haven’t been taken away into space like I dream of, you can find me at 7-9am Thursday mornings on the TuneIn app.
