Wordle In a Nutshell

Wordle was a commercial success during COVID because of course everyone was stuck inside, bored out of their minds, and suddenly into self-education. I know I for one did the wordle every single day, I still do! So, I’m going to run through my strategy when approaching wordles (not on hard mode).

Wordle was a commercial success during COVID because of course everyone was stuck inside, bored out of their minds, and suddenly into self-education. I know I for one did the wordle every single day, I still do! So, I’m going to run through my strategy when approaching wordles (not on hard mode).

Apparently, the best word to start with is IRATE but my personal preference is CHEST. Let me explain why. E is the most common vowel, and you can combine H with all three of the other letters to make other frequent digraphs.

So, once I’ve put that as my first line, if it comes up all grey aka THE WALL OF DEATH then my next choice is AUDIO because it includes the rest of the vowels.

If I get just the E in yellow then my next choice is PEARL, because again good vowels and L and R are good digraph letters. They work well with other consonants in the 2nd place, for example PLACE or BROKE.

From there I run with whatever letters I have on offer. Let’s use Wordle No. 691 to test out my theory.

So, my first thought after this is it’s going to be a long one. Let’s try AUDIO.

Okay so from this we know there’s only one vowel and my guess is that it will probably be in the third place since there are very few 3 combinations of three consonants.

So I was right about the O being in the 3rd place and my theory about of R being a good combination letter.

PROXY was a risk and unfortunately it didn’t pay off. It did eliminate some letters but overall, not a very logical guess.

Overall, I’m not unhappy with getting it in 5, obviously could be a lot better but quite tricky with a double vowel.

My best is in two and there have been plenty of duds, so I’ll take 5. Good lucky with your wordlerling!
